JSerra basketball tops Roosevelt in big, early-season victory
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA - It’s only November, but it felt like a playoff game. It felt like JSerra was playing for something — maybe it was.
“Brayden Burries is a 5-star recruit. Darnez Slater is going to Colorado State, so it ups the intensity a little bit,” JSerra senior point guard Aidan Fowler said.
“… they’re ranked higher than us, too,” he added.
The SBLive No. 6-ranked Lions took down No. 3 Eastvale Roosevelt 90-76 in double overtime thanks to Fowler’s 31 points and teammate Sebastian Rancik’s 32-point performance at the Ryse Williams Pac Shores Showcase at Redondo Union Tuesday night.
“This shows we have a good team and can compete at the Open Division level,” Fowler said. “We’re ready.”
JSerra improved to 5-0 and Roosevelt dropped to 5-1.
