Host Spartans take control from the outset while taking 33-0 halftime lead over the 13-0 Broncos

CONCORD, CALIFORNIA — The Clovis North fans made 175-mile drive full of banners, fog machines, noise makers, a giant Bronco blow up, a school band, enthusiasm and most of all hope.

And with a 13-0 record and a battle-tested squad, known for its ball-control offense and moxie, why not.

But it wasn't the Broncos' night. Simply, it was all De La Salle which played its best game of the year by far during a 41-0 CIF Northern California Division 1-AA championship game at Owen Owens Field.

The Spartans (11-2) scored on their first five possessions and piled up 242 of its 344 yards in the first half while advancing to a state championship game for the 16th time in 17 years the California title games returned in 2006.

Check out the pregame and in-game action, plus some very cool photos from terrific photographer Dennis Lee.
