CJ Ceron accounts for two touchdowns in Lancers' 21-19 victory in Mission Viejo
MISSION VIEJO, CALIFORNIA — Quarterback CJ Ceron threw for a touchdown and scored on a run to lift La Serna to a 21-19 victory over Grant on Friday night in the CIF State Division 2-AA championship game at Saddleback College.
The Pacers came up short on a 2-point running attempt late in the game that would have tied it.
Receiver Owen Long caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter from Ceron, who finished with 74 yards passing.
It marked the first state championship for the Lancers (13-3).
Wayshawn Parker rushed for a game-high 145 yards and scored a touchdown for Grant (12-3).
