Early National Signing Day in California: Live updates on football signings, flips, news CIF section by section
Ninety percent of California's top 100 football recruits from the Class of 2024 have already announced their intentions — their commitments to college programs. But over the next 72 hours, plans and intentions figure to change.
The early National Sign Day begins Wednesday (Dec. 20) and runs through Friday (Dec. 22). Those signatures lock in contracts between player, college and program. It's legally binding. After Friday, the regular signing period starts Feb. 7.
The top eight, nine of 11 and 30 of the top 32 California recruits (according to 247Sports) have made a pledge to their future school. None of them have to sign early, but in the new age of NIL deals and transfer portals, the 3-, 4- and 5-star athletes want premier spots locked up ASAP.
