The stats are one thing, but the winning is another. That's what makes Smigiel an elite quarterback.

Since his arrival as a freshman, Newbury Park is 19-7 in the past two seasons after making its way to the CIF Southern Section Division 5 title game where Smigiel threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.

Smigiel could end up being the most coveted quarterback prospect in the country next season, if not, on the West Coast.

He is already entertaining offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida State, Oregon, Ole Miss and Utah.
