Look: 70-foot shot by Monte Vista's Daniel Cojocaru beats halftime buzzer

The 6-3 senior guard makes miraculous shot for 15-1 Mustangs but De La Salle comfortably in front at halftime

There were a lot of impressive shots made in the first half of the Bay Area showdown between upstart Monte Vista-Danville (15-1) and host De La Salle-Concord (13-3), California's No. 20 team in the California.

But no doubt the most startling with a 70-foot two-hand heave by Monte Vista 6-foot-3 guard Daniel Cojocaru to end the first half.

Monte Vista's tallest starter took a pass in the back court and let it fly from inside the free throw line of his own basket. It banked in and Monte Vista trailed 35-24.

Through three quarters, Cojocaru had 18 points but De La Salle led 50-37.

Call is by Pat O'Rourke from DeLaSalleTV on vemeo.com.
