Carlsbad used a second half comeback against El Camino on Friday to remain unbeaten in the North County Coastal League

Here's an updated look at the San Diego Section rankings at the midpoint of league play across the section.

1. Carlsbad (19-2)

Next game: 1/23 at Sage Creek

Last week: 1

Carlsbad blew past San Dieguito on Tuesday before getting a tough test against El Camino on Friday. The Lancers trailed by five points at halftime before emerging with a 58-54 win. They'll hit the road twice this week including a trip to No. 4 Torrey Pines on Friday.

2. Montgomery (19-2)

Next game: 1/24 at San Ysidro

Last week: 2

Montgomery pulled away from Mater Dei Catholic in the second half on Friday, beating the Crusaders 66-51 in their lone game last week. They'll hit the road for San Ysidro and Otay Ranch this week looking to stay unbeaten in the Mesa League.

3. St. Augustine (19-3)

Next game: 1/24 vs. Steele Canyon

Last week: 3

The Saints won road games over Mission Bay and San Diego last week. They'll host Steele Canyon and Madison this week before taking on JSerra at the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana on Saturday.

4. Torrey Pines (16-5)

Next game: 1/23 vs. El Camino

Last week: 4

The Falcons got past Sage Creek on Tuesday despite missing three starters due to illness. On Friday, they emerged with a 67-65 overtime win against rival La Costa Canyon. Home games against El Camino and top-ranked Carlsbad are set for this week.

5. Santa Fe Christian (15-6)

Next game: 1/24 at Escondido Charter

Last week: 5

The Eagles will return to the court against Escondido Charter after a nine-day break. Friday's game at La Jolla Country has huge implications in the Coastal League standings.

6. La Jolla Country Day (16-5)

Next game: 1/22 vs. Foothills Christian

Last week: 6

The Torreys beat Francis Parker and Bishop's last week, extending their home winning streak to nine games. They'll host Foothills Christian and Santa Fe Christian this week before closing out the year with four Coastal League games on the road.

7. La Costa Canyon (13-5)

Next game: 1/23 vs. San Dieguito

Last week: 7

La Costa Canyon used a big second quarter to win at El Camino on Tuesday but came up short at Torrey Pines on Friday, falling 67-65 in overtime. The Mavericks will play San Dieguito and Sage Creek in league play before heading to Cathedral Catholic on Saturday for a non-league matchup.

8. Mission Hills (16-6)

Next game: 1/24 vs. Del Norte

Last week: 8

Mission Hills continues to dominate in the Palomar League. They held Poway and San Marcos to a combined 80 points last week to extend their winning streak to 12 games. They'll close the first round of league play by hosting Del Norte on Wednesday.

9. Cathedral Catholic (15-6)

Next game: 1/26 at Mission Bay

Last week: 10

The Dons remained one game behind St. Augustine in the Western League standings with an 87-59 win over Madison. They'll have key games against Mission Bay and La Costa Canyon this week looking to improve their playoff positioning.

10. Rancho Buena Vista (16-6)

Next game: 1/22 at Tri-City Christian

Last week: NR

Thee Longhorns beat Canyon Crest on Wednesday and held off Vista 74-68 on Friday to remain unbeaten in the Avocado League. They'll head to Tri-City Christian on Monday for a non-league game before jumping back into league play on Friday.
