Nine Californians make McDonald's All-American Game teams
Nine California-based players made the two McDonald's All American Game contests, but many people were talking about the one big commission.
Mercy Miller, a 6-foot-5 guard from Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks, was left off the boys squad despite him carrying the undefeated squad with averages of 30.5 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He had 68 points in a game this season for the 23-0 Knights.

Three of the five California players selected to the boys game are from Napa basketball academy Prolific Prep, which is ranked fourth in the nation. All three players are natives from outside of the Golden State.

The boys game, which will be televised on ESPN, takes place April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston at 8 p.m. central time, after the girls game, which starts at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Tickets are available at mcdaag.com.
