Eastvale Roosevelt names Aaron Crone head football coach

Crone, 30, calls Roosevelt his "dream job"

Eastvale Roosevelt High named alum Aaron Crone its new head football coach Wednesday afternoon.

Crone will be a head coach for the first time at just 30 years old.

"It's always been a dream of mine to coach here," Crone said. "I'm excited to be back home and coach where it all started."

He played quarterback at Roosevelt before graduating in 2012. He played at Chaffey College then graduated from Azusa Pacific University before getting into coaching.

Crone was a graduate assistant at Northern Arizona University then became a quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator at San Bernardino Valley College where the team won two junior college bowl games in his time there after having a winless season.

Aaron Crone named 5th head football coach in Roosevelt's history.

Crone was previously at Norco High before coming to Roosevelt in 2023 to be an assistant head coach with Chuck Chastain.

The Mustangs went 6-4 last season with a 1-3 record in the Big West League, which has been dominated by Corona Centennial for a long time.

Crone will have his work cut out for him. Centennial isn't the only team to deal with in that league. Chaparral, Murrieta Valley, Vista Murrieta are all coming off winning seasons.

Crone is the fifth head coach in the program's history. The school opened in September of 2006.
