CIF Southern Section boys basketball Open Division playoffs; Harvard-Westlake, Roosevelt top seeds

Harvard-Westlake and Eastvale Roosevelt awarded top seeds in the Open Division; St. Pius and JSerra earn berths for the first time

The CIF Southern Section announced its eight teams for the Open Division playoffs Sunday.

The Open Division teams were selected by a committee and are placed into two, four-team pools. Each team in their respective team will play one time, and the first-place finishers in each pool will play in the Open Division final at Cal Baptist University on Friday, Feb. 23.

Harvard-Westlake is the No. 1 seed in Pool A and Eastvale Roosevelt is the No. 2 overall seed, but the top seed in Pool B.

The field reveals that Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks was not selected. Instead, the Knights will be the No. 1 seed in the Division 1 playoffs after finishing fourth in the Mission League.
