CIF Northern Section 2024 girls basketball playoffs: Updated scores, matchups, brackets, game times (2-17-2024)

Top four seeds advance to Division 3 semifinals; Championship games secured in Divisions 6, 7

The 2023 CIF Northern Section girls basketball playoffs continue Tuesday after few surprises in quarterfinal play. 

The top four seeds advanced in Division 3 (NS's top division) with No. 2 Chico, third-seed Foothill and No. 4 Shasta all rolling to double-digit wins on Thursday. Top seed Pleasant Valley earned a bye and will host Shasta on Tuesday. 

In D4, top-seed University Prep defeated No. 8 Orland, 73-54 and faces fifth seed Winters in a semifinal game on Tuesday. Second-seed West Valley and No. 3 also rolled into the semis. 

In D5, Trinity rolled into the finals after a 32-23 win over Portola and away the winner of Quincy and Modoc on Tuesday for the section title on Feb. 24. In D6, top seed Weed and No. 3 Fall River advanced to the finals with easy semifinal wins. In D6, fourth-seed Chester pulled off a 30-28 win over top seed Hayfork and will face third-seed Loyalton, a 47-36 win over Butte Valley, in the Feb. 24 championship. 

The CIF-SJS released its girls basketball playoff matchups Feb. 10 and will conclude Feb. 23-24. with games across all five divisions.

Top seeds in each divisions are: Pleasant Valley (D3), University Prep (D4), Quincy (D5), Weed (D6) and Hayfork (D7).

Defending champions are: Pleasant Valley (D3), Lassen (D4), Fall River (D5), Weed (D6) and Butte Valley (D7).
