CIF San Francisco Section 2024 girls basketball playoff brackets: Updated scores, matchups, game times — Lincoln wins first title since 2017

Senior dominated team lifts the Mustangs to their seventh San Francisco Section overall after a 73-67 championship win over rival Lowell

Lincoln's girls basketball team knew this could be a special season.

They showed all at Kezar Stadium in the first half Friday just how talented these Mustangs are.

They scored 47 in the first half then held off a strong Lowell rally in the fourth quarter to win their seventh San Francisco Section title in school history and first since 2017 with a 73-67 victory.

Kellis Powell had 18 points, Tiara Jeremia and Brianna Nguyen added 12 each and Katlin Nguyen added 10 for the Mustangs (23-4) who haven't lost on the court since Dec. 8. They had to take a couple of forfeit losses due on Dec. 22 and Jan. 5, but since then they've won 17 straight.

Trice Walsh had 20 points and Hannah Tandoc added 14 for the Cardinals (16-12), who scored 26 points in the fourth quarter to make the game close.

In semifinal play, Lincoln got strong play from its entire roster, including seniors Powell and twins Brianna Nguyen and Kaitlin Nguyen in a 63-32 win over fourth-seed and defending champion Washington. Lowell, the second seed, had little trouble beating Galileo, 53-26.

All 11 Lincoln players scored with eight scoring at least four points. Shridavi Raghavan, a 6-foot-1 post, had 11 points and Brianna Nguyen added 10 for the Mustangs.

Both teams will advance to next wee's Northern California regional playoffs.
