La Habra boys basketball routs St. Bonaventure for CIF-SS 3AA title

Jaedon Anderson and Acen Jimenez combined for 43 points for the Highlanders

ONTARIO, Calif. - La Habra entered Saturday's championship tilt on a 19-game winning streak – and it was easy to see why.

Jaedon Anderson (22 points) and Acen Jimenez (21 points) led the way as the La Habra rolled to a 76-45 win against St. Bonaventure for a Southern Section 3AA championship.

After a close first quarter, the Highlanders started away in the second quarter and never looked back. They led 37-24 at halftime and 52-36 after three quarters before dominating the fourth quarter 24-9. La Habra won the turnover battle 14-5, good for a 20-4 advantage in points off turnovers, and combined it with an excellent shooting performance – 21-41 (51-percent) overall, 8-18 (44-percent) from three, and 26-33 (79-percent) from the foul line.

Grayson Sinek and Sebastian Esparza added 11 points and 10 points for the Highlanders, respectively.

Time for everyone to "burn the boats" – and to look out for the Highlanders in the upcoming regional/state playoffs.

Mathew Wilson led St. Bonaventure with 13 points and six rebounds.
