The Lancers had lost two straight games to Montgomery, including a 56-48 defeat in last season's Open Division semifinal round.

Junior guard Jake Hall, Carlsbad's leading scorer each of the last three seasons, led the Lancers with 19 points against Montgomery. It's the second title in three seasons for Hall as well as seniors Tony Duckett and Tristan Guzman after taking home the Division 1 title in 2022.
