Cleveland and Garfield debut in the City Section baseball Top 10

The latest Top 10 high school baseball rankings in the LA City Section as of Feb. 26, 2024.

Heavy rains last week derailed games from being played, so there isn't a lot of movement in this week's rankings.

1. El Camino Real (4-1)

ECR takes its first loss of the year in the Easton tournament final to Westlake, 3-1. Potential Open Division-type game against Narbonne Feb. 29.

2. Granada Hills Charter (4-1)

The Highlanders are on a Foothill League tour. Lost to Hart and beat Saugus before taking on West Ranch and Valencia this week.

3. Carson (3-0)

The Colts have outscored their opponents 15-5 in first three games.

4. Birmingham (4-4)

The Patriots have only played Southern Section teams thus far. Nice City Section duel with Sylmar on Feb. 29.

5. Palisades (2-0)

John Iacono struck out 10 in 5 1/3 innings against Kennedy.

6. Narbonne (1-3)

The Gauchos are sharpening their tools after playing Edison, Vista Murrieta and San Clemente.

7. Cleveland (4-2)

The Cavs move into the Top 10 after taking down Sylmar 2-0. 

8. Garfield (2-1)

The Bulldogs beat Glendora and Hesperia.

9. Sylmar (1-1)

Spartans drop after loss to Cleveland, but stay afloat with a win over Providence.

10. Venice (1-2)

The Gondoliers could be a force after playing Southern Section-laden nonleague schedule.
