Miller, a 4-star Houston commit, scores a game-high 22 points for the Knights

ONTARIO, Calif. - When the CIF-SS Division 1 bracket was released, basketball fans across the Southland quickly got excited about the exciting possibility of a Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks)/Windward title game at Toyota Arena.

On Saturday, it came to fruition – and right down to the wire.

4-star Houston commit Mercy Miller led all scorers with 22 points, and added five rebounds and three assists, as Notre Dame won 69-65 in a battle that was neck-and-neck from start to finish.

Angelino Mark was second on the Knights with 16 points to go with three steals. Bronson Schmidt-Uili contributed 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Caleb Ogbu had 14 points on 5-6 shooting (4-4 from three), and Zachary White totaled four points, four assists, four rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Windward was led by Gavin Hightower, who racked up 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Louis Bond, playing all 32 minutes for the Wildcats, recorded 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Jeremiah Hampton scored 13 points, and JJ Harris added eight points and six rebounds for Windward.
