California Top 25 high school baseball rankings: Corona, Orange Lutheran on top (2/27/2024)
The 2024 high school baseball season is underway across California. The Southern and LA City Sections have been going for multiple weeks with the remaining sections now joining them.
Corona and Orange Lutheran, who are both undefeated and ranked in the top 10 nationally, sit atop the first California rankings of the season.
SBLive’s statewide California high school baseball rankings are compiled by SBLive reporter Bodie DeSilva and will be released weekly throughout the season.

1. Corona (3-0)
Last season: 22-11
The Panthers have wins over Huntington Beach and JSerra during their perfect start. Their championship game against Orange Lutheran in the PBR Tournament has been rescheduled for March 6.
2. Orange Lutheran (5-0)
Last season: 20-12-1
Orange Lutheran recorded shutouts against Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) and Corona Del Sol (Arizona) last week, lowering their team ERA to 0.80.
3. Harvard-Westlake (4-1)
Last season: 21-9
The Wolverines beat JSerra and Marcus (Texas) last week. Duncan Marsten and Bryce Rainer combined for 10 strikeouts in the shutout against JSerra.
4. Huntington Beach (4-1)
Last season: 21-9
The Oilers have won three straight going into Thursday's matchup with unbeaten Orange Lutheran.
5. La Costa Canyon (0-0)
Last season: 26-7
The San Diego Section's top ranked team play Hilltop to open the season on Tuesday.
6. Valley Christian (San Jose) (2-0)
Last season: 31-4
Sophomore Nathan Choi drove in the lone run in Saturday's eight inning victory over Elk Grove.
7. Westlake (7-0)
Last season: 23-12
Miami-signee Nolan Johnson is hitting .536 with two home runs during their unbeaten start.
8. De La Salle (2-0)
Last season: 27-5
San Diego State-signee Hank Tripaldi has reached base six times in the first two games of the season.
9. JSerra (4-2)
Last season: 24-9
The Lions won two out of state games last week and are off this week.
10. Eastlake (1-0)
Last season: 29-6
Oregon commit Angel Laya had two doubles and drove in four runs in Monday's season opener.
11. Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) (3-2)
Last season: 28-4
The Knights two losses have come against Huntington Beach and Orange Lutheran. They'll open the Mission League against Loyola on Tuesday.
12. Maranatha (4-1)
Last season: 21-6
The Minutemen have won three straight since losing to Orange Lutheran.
13. Carlsbad (0-0)
Last season: 21-12
Carlsbad's season begins with two road games. They'll open up at Santana on Tuesday.
14. Santa Margarita (3-2)
Last season: 29-7
The Eagles are headed to Texas later this week to play three games, the last coming against Southlake Carroll.
15. St. Mary's (Stockton) (0-0)
Last season: 24-8
The Rams open their season this week with home games against Woodcreek and Elk Grove.
16. Corona Centennial (5-0)
Last season: 20-9
Senior Matthew Bernath has reached base 15 times during Centennial's 5-0 start.
17. Patrick Henry (0-0)
Last season: 21-13
Patrick Henry opens the Kendra Couch Classic on Tuesday by hosting La Jolla Country Day.
18. La Salle (6-0)
Last season: 18-11
La Salle has recorded three shutouts during their 6-0 start.
19. Servite (5-0)
Last season: 14-14
The Friars took down La Serna, Aliso Niguel and Arlington over three straight days last week.
20. El Camino Real (4-1)
Last season: 14-15-1
The Royals first loss came against unbeaten Westlake last Wednesday.
21. Clovis West (1-0)
Last season: 13-16
Sophomore Adam Plascencia had three hits including a home run in the season opener against Arroyo Grande.
22. Rancho Bernardo (0-0)
Last season: 22-10
The Broncos will open their season on March 6 against Carlsbad in the North County Coastal League.
23. Franklin (Elk Grove) (0-0)
Last season: 30-5
Franklin travels to Folsom on Wednesday to begin their campaign.
24. Cathedral Catholic (0-0)
Last season: 22-9
Cathedral Catholic opens the season at home on Tuesday before hitting the road for three straight games.
25. Clovis (1-1)
Last season: 17-12-1
The Cougars are headed to Las Vegas for the Desert Oasis Invitational later this week.
