Top 10 San Diego Section high school baseball rankings (3/4/2024)
La Costa Canyon held on to the top spot in the San Diego Section rankings after their 2-0 start in the opening week. Carlsbad and Patrick Henry each moved up a spot following Eastlake's extra-innings loss on Friday.

1. La Costa Canyon (2-0)
Last week: 1
The Mavericks opened their season with a no-hitter from senior Cooper Walls in a 3-0 win against Hilltop.
2. Carlsbad (2-0)
Last week: 3
The Lancers have 27 runs in their first two games of the season while missing Cal-bound shortstop Jett Kenady as he finishes up basketball duties. They'll play Cathedral Catholic once and Rancho Bernardo twice this week.
3. Patrick Henry (2-0)
Last week: 4
Patrick Henry pitching has struck out 21 batters in their first 14 innings of the season. They'll head on the road for three of their next four games.
4. Rancho Bernardo (0-0)
Last week: 5
Rancho Bernardo will get their season started this week, playing two games in their league series against Carlsbad.
5. Eastlake (2-1)
Last week: 2
Eastlake took their first loss of the season on Friday, falling to Steele Canyon in extra innings 5-4. The Titans are on the road for three in a row, starting with Grossmont on Monday.
6. Cathedral Catholic (2-0)
Last week: 6
The Dons have won their first two games by a combined score of 15-3. A big showdown at No. 2 Carlsbad awaits on Tuesday.
7. Granite Hills (2-0)
Last week: 7
Granite Hills has yet to allow an earned run over their first two games. They'll face five top 10 teams over their next seven games.
8. Torrey Pines (2-0)
Last week: 8
Brendon Miller got his season off to a hot start, striking out 12 batters over 6.1 shutout innings against La Jolla Country Day on Friday night.
9. St. Augustine (2-0)
Last week: 9
The Saints played two games against Francis Parker last week, winning 11-1 and 8-2. They'll do the same with San Marcos this week, playing a home-and-home against the Knights.
10. Point Loma (1-1)
Last week: NR
The Pointers bounced back from their loss to Torrey Pines with a shutout at Mt. Carmel. They'll take on Scripps Ranch, La Jolla Country Day and Ramona this week.
