Corona stays at No. 1 as league play begins around SoCal

The latest Top 25 high school baseball rankings in the CIF Southern Section as of March 4, 2024.

1. Corona (3-0)

Idle last week with big game against Orange Lutheran Wednesday.

2. Orange Lutheran (7-0)

A battle of unbeatens on Wednesday.

3. Harvard-Westlake (5-1-1)

The Wolverines get a tie and win against Sierra Canyon last week. The tie was called a 4-4 due to darkness. Duncan Marsten is dazzling early with his power arm. Three-game series with St. Francis this week.

4. Huntington Beach (5-2)

Oilers have won four of last five with the one loss being to Orange Lutheran. CJ Weinstein leads the team in hits (8).

5. Westlake (8-0)

Warriors lone game last week was a 20-0 win over Sylmar.

6. JSerra (4-2)

No games played since Feb. 23 due to weather. Two games with Cypress this week on Tuesday and Thursday. 

7. Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks (4-2-1)

The Knights tie and win a Mission League duo of games with Loyola last week. Three-game series with Chaminade this week.

8. Maranatha (5-1)

The Minuteman receive the services of shortstop Josh Proctor, a transfer from La Canada. Only loss is to Orange Lutheran.

9. Santa Margarita (5-2-1)

Talent travels. Eagles win two and tie one in Texas.

10. Corona Centennial (5-0)

The Huskies were idle last week with games against San Dimas and Ramona this week.

11. La Salle (7-1)

La Salle drops its first game of the year to Loyola on Saturday.

12. Servite (6-0)

We'll see if the Friars are the real deal. Toughest game Tuesday against South Hills.

13. Mater Dei (4-1)

Monarchs off to a nice start. First game in California will be versus Dana Hills on Wednesday. 

14. South Hills (6-3)

Maybe, the toughest team in SoCal. The Huskies seem to play anyone, anywhere.

15. La Mirada (3-2)

La Mirada takes down Bonita big and moves up in the rankings. 

16. Cypress (3-4)

Tough schedule means Cypress can play with anyone.

17. Sierra Canyon (4-3-1)

Trailblazers went toe-to-toe with Harvard-Westlake.

18. Calabasas (3-3)

The Coyotes take down previously top 20-ranked West Ranch.

19. Camarillo (5-2)

Scorpions are 1-0 in Coastal Canyon League. Tommy Goodin has 11 hits, 10 RBI and a homer in seven games.

20. Chaminade (4-2)

Eagle split with Crespi last week and now had three-game series with Notre Dame this week. Sophomore Isaiah Hearn is making waves.

21. West Ranch (5-2-1)

Wildcats start Foothill League this week against Castaic.

22. Gahr (2-3)

Talented team that starts Gateway League play this week against Warren and Norwalk.

23. Hart (6-3)

Hart has won four last five games. Starts Foothill League play this week against Valencia.

24. Arlington (6-1)

Lone loss is to Servite.

25. San Dimas (5-2)

Three-game winning streak including wins over Bonita and Downey.
