Senior Jack Turner scores 20 points, leads St. John Bosco to first CIF State title since 2014

SACRAMENTO - St. John Bosco came out on fire Friday night, scoring 28 points in the opening quarter of the CIF State Division 1 championship game against San Ramon Valley

The Braves led by eight at halftime and scored 42 second half points on their way to a 78-62 victory over the Wolves.

St. John Bosco was making their second appearance in the CIF State championship after previously beating Folsom in the 2014 Division 2 championship. Head coach Matt Dunn, who won the Division 3 state title with Damien in 2015, joins a select group of coaches in California who has won state championships at multiple schools.

Following the game, Dunn and several coaches discussed the state title and the turning point that led to the playoff run.
