We are just past the mid-point part of the high school football season here in the Constitution State and there’s no shortage of upperclassmen performing at a high level. It’s no surprise that seniors are showing out in Connecticut as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of upperclassmen features some of the top signal callers we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Connecticut. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing senior quarterback in Connecticut.
Voting closes on October 31st, 11:59 pm.
Here are this week's nominations:
CJ DiBenedetto, Southington: Leading the state in passing is plenty enought to get on the list. The quarterback has completed 96-of-155 passes for 1,531 yards, 17 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
Ben Roden, Northwest United: The Workhorses have relied on a strong offensive attack, led by Roden under center. The signal caller has completed 54-of-86 passes for 991 yards, 16 touchdowns and just one interception.
Tyler Hilgert, Guilford: Hilgert's completion percentage has been off the charts, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes this season. The quarterback has completed 61-of-90 passes for 1,016 yards, 14 scores and two picks.
Jayden Cordova, Newtown: The Nighthawks signal caller has played really well through the season so far, with Cordova throwing for 643 yards and seven touchdowns.
Caleb Smith, Staples: Smith is averaging 212 yards per game for the Wreckers and leads a potent offense. The signal caller has thrown for 848 yards, 12 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Darrien Foster, Bloomfield: Taking care of the football is something Foster has done a solid job of, only throwing one interception. Foster this season has thrown for 620 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Rocco Grillo, Greenwich: The Cardinals are off to a 4-0 start behind the play of an offense that's humming with Grillo at the helm. Grillo has completed 57-of-96 passes for 611 yards, seven touchdowns and only one pick.
Rob Klein, Masuk: Though the Panthers don't throw the ball a whole ton, when they do, Klein has been very efficient. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound quarterback has thrown for 550 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions.
