Vote: Who is the best scorer in Connecticut boys basketball of 2023 so far?

Every week is another chance for basketball players throughout the country to put up stellar performances. 

That’s when the top scorers come out and show why they’re some of the best when it comes to scoring the basketball. We’ve decided to go state-by-state across the East Coast and try to compile the top scorers around. 

We ask the question of how who’s the top scorer out of Connecticut to start things off. We give you eight candidates to choose from. 

Voting concludes on February 29th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. 

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll. 

Here are the nominations: 

Shane Weber, Brookfield: Leading the entire state in scoring has been Weber, who’s averaging 29.1 points per game through 14 contests. 

TJ Wright, St. Joseph: The point guard doesn’t just orchestrate the offense, but he also is the team’s top scorer as well. Wright is tallying 25.2 points per game through 11 games. 

Jacob Henderson, Capital Prep Harbor: Through 16 games this season, Henderson has been very consistent for Capital Prep Harbor. Henderson is tallying 23.9 points per game so far. 

Indrit Peraj, Seymour: The forward has continued to remain one of the state’s top scorers on a nightly basis for Seymour. Peraj is averaging an impressive 23.6 points per game through 13 games played. 

Sam Clachko, Staples: The Wreckers’ shooting guard has been playing really well through 11 games and continues to pour in the points. Clachko is averaging 23.3 points per game this season, among the best in the state. 

Sincere Monroe, Windsor Locks: One of the state’s best combo guards throughout the winter season has been Monroe for Windsor Locks. The combo guard is averaging 22.4 points per game on 41 percent shooting. 

Jayvon Robinson, Fitch: Robinson’s impressive athleticism at the point guard position makes him dynamic as a distributor and a scorer. The guard is currently averaging 22.5 points per game on 44 percent shooting. 

Dam’nic Gittens, Cheney RVT: Gittens splits time between guard and forward for Cheney RVT and being the team’s top scorer. The wing is averaging 21.6 points per game and shooting 45 percent from the field.
