The Florida high school football season is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 24 — 30 days from today. As we count down the days until kickoff, SBLive Florida will give you one significant number per day.

30

The emphasis on quarterback play on the high school level continues to be one of the most elements to a team annually. Moore Haven High School got great play out of the position last season from then junior Henry Boyd.

Boyd statistically had one of the best seasons of any signal caller in the Sunshine State, throwing for just a shade under 3,000 yards and 30 touchdown passes versus just three interceptions for the Terriers.

This past spring, Austin Simmons transferred in from Pahokee and participated in the spring for Moore Haven, but ended up reclassifying from the 2025 class to 2023 and enrolling early at Ole Miss. That leaves the door open to Boyd coming back and having a big senior campaign for the Terriers.
