Vote: Who should be the Florida Panhandle offensive player of the week (Sep. 21-22)?

We’ve selected 13 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 5.

As such, we have 13 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Florida Panhandle Offensive Football Player of the Week award from September 21-22 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, September 30 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Panhandle Florida Offensive Player of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: Jesse Winslette, QB, Choctawhatchee.

Here are this week's nominations.

Connor Mathews, RB, Navarre: Mathews is at it again for the Raiders and he was doing work across state lines in Alabama. In Navarre's 49-21 win over Carroll, Mathews carried the rock 28 times for 236 yards and four touchdowns.

Anthony Hall, QB, Escambia: Hall has come onto the scene as a first-year starter and has look anything but that. The signal caller was at it again and completed 20-of-28 passes for 346 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-0 win over Milton.

Dorrion White, RB, Escambia: The running back chipped in on the big offensive night for the Gators, rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns.

Cayden Jasso, WR, Pensacola Catholic: Jasso, a sophomore wide receiver, had a couple catches in a 56-20 loss to Prince Avenue Christian (Georgia) and made the most of them. The receiver caught two passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Devin Cuttino, QB, Port St. Joe: The quarterback completed 9-of-15 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Tiger Sharks' 16-14 win over Rutherford.

Kane Lafortune, QB, Niceville: In arguably the biggest win of the season for the Eagles so far, the backup quarterback completed 15-of-24 passes for 187 yards and two scores in a 42-21 rout of Choctawhatchee.

DJ Robinson, RB, Niceville: Robinson got in all the offensive fun as well for Niceville as the running back carried the rock 16 times for 136 yards and one touchdown.

Eddie Love Jr., RB, Fort Walton Beach: Momma, there goes that running back. Love Jr. has made the cut a handful of times already and did again in a blowout of Arnold, rushing for 226 yards on nine carries and scoring three times.

Harrison Orr, ATH, Fort Walton Beach: Orr playing more of a Taysom Hill role for the Vikings? That could be dangerous as Orr ran the ball nine times for 121 yards, two touchdowns.

Lakota Johnson, QB, North Bay Haven: The signal caller led the Buccaneers to a 28-20 win over Cottondale and threw for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Battle Alberson, QB, Gulf Breeze: Can Alberson be stopped? He's got 13 touchdowns in two weeks. Alberson threw for 281 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-0 win over Milton.

Corniulis McKenzie, RB, Walton: Rivalry games bring the best out of you and it did for McKenzie as he ran for 120 yards and two scores in a 34-31 win over South Walton.

Carson Hawk, QB, South Walton: Hawk made a valiant effort to lift the Seahawks, with the quarterback completing 20-of-43 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns.
