SBLive Sports Athlete of the Week winner
Congratulations to the SBLive Florida Athlete of the Week: Edward Jordan, Football, Beachside!

Here are this week's nominations:

Laython Biddle, Football, Bartram Trail: No matter what Navarre's defense did, they just had no answer for the Bears' running back. Biddle rushed for 333 yards on 32 carries and scored six touchdowns in a 67-55 win over Navarre.

Hunter Pfiester, Football, Navarre: On the other side of the 67-55 decision was Pfiester, who did everything he could to lift Navarre to a win. The Raiders' quarterback completed 25-of-37 passes for 507 yards and four touchdowns. Pfiester also rushed for 61 yards and added another score.

Latavious Welch, Football, Eau Gallie: Welch didn't need a bunch of carries to go off for the kind of night he had. The Commodores' tailback rushed for 267 yards on just seven carries and scored two touchdowns in a 62-22 win over Merritt Island.

Allen Clark, Football, Out-of-Door: The running back came up huge in a SSAA Class 4A state title game, rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy. The Thunder won the state championship on head coach Rob Hollway's birthday.

Isaiah Riggins, Football, Wiregrass Ranch: When you set a county record for receiving yards in a season, it's a feat all in its own. Riggins set a new Pasco County single season mark and had 250 yards and multiple scores in the Bulls' win. The previous record was held by Land O' Lakes wide receiver Logan Payne (2002).

Zach Quinn, Football, Jesuit: Not often do you see a linebacker get close to making 20 tackles, nonetheless 30. Quinn nearly did that in the Tigers' 40-7 win over Pinellas Park, tallying 25 tackles and two sacks.

Deshon Jenkins Jr., Football, Bishop Verot: The running back literally powered the Vikings to victory last week in a Class 2S region quarterfinal. Jenkins Jr. rushed for 257 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns in a 47-6 win over Mulberry.

Luke Watts, Football, Liberty Christian Prep: Watts had a big night against Foundation Christian Academy as the quarterback totaled 317 all-purpose yards, six touchdowns in a 50-36 win.

Mason Mallory, Football, West Boca Raton: Mallory isn't on this list for the overall stats. He's on here because of his late game heroics, throwing a game-winning 32-yard touchdown toss to Kyle Andrews in a 23-22 win over Delray Beach Atlantic.

Shermon Davis, Football, Riverside: The Generals' running back didn't need many carries to do the damage he did on the ground. Davis rushed for 169 yards on seven carries and scored three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Episcopal School.

Noah Grubbs, Football, Lake Mary: Grubbs had to have one of his best games to lift the Rams over Boone as the sophomore completed 30-of-49 passes for 510 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-38 win.

Haden Klees, Football, Wakulla: The senior signal caller was terrific in the War Eagles' 46-14 win over Gadsden County as Klees completed 17-of-26 passes for 298 yards and five touchdowns.

Jean Clixte, Football, South Dade: Clixte had one of his best performances of the season at the best time. The quarterback completed 16-of-24 passes for 313 yards and four touchdowns in South Dade's 43-31 win over West Broward.

Shawn Simeon, Football, Naples: The Golden Eagles' tailback has made a name for himself in this 2023 campaign and that continued in a 42-0 win over Parrish Community. Simeon rushed for 253 yards on 19 attempts and scored four touchdowns.

Brycen Levidiotis, Football, Lake Wales: Levidiotis couldn't miss, literally, in the Highlanders' 56-20 win over Gulf. The quarterback completed 16-of-17 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns.

Maggie Dostic, Volleyball, Plant: The junior outside hitter led the way in the Panthers' Class 7A state championship win over Winter Park. Dostic led the way with 18 kills and 16 digs.

Jackie Taylor, Volleyball, Gulliver Prep: Taylor, a North Carolina commitment, led the way in the Raiders' Class 3A state championship win. The Raider led the way with 26 kills, 6.5 blocks and four digs.

Lydia Chinchar, Volleyball, Carrollwood Day: The freshman sensation was the driving force in helping lead the Patriots to the Class 3A state title. Chinchar notched 35 kills and 19 digs.
