Look: Dunbar (Florida) takes kickoff return for walk-off touchdown

With about 11 seconds to go, the Tigers returned a kickoff for the region final win

Trailing for most of the game, Naples was finally able to take a 10-6 lead with 10.7 seconds to go in a Class 3M, Region 4 final against Dunbar.

The Golden Eagles opted to kick it deep rather than to kick it out of bounds or squib it. The Tigers made them pay for it.

Dunbar’s Kelby Tyre took the ensuing kickoff 96 yards to the endzone, sending the Tigers’ sidelines and fans into jubilation after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Down below is the video of Tyre’s 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Dunbar’s 12-10 victory, shot by Naples Daily News reporter Alex Martin

The victory earned Dunbar a road trip to Florida’s oldest city, St. Augustine, where they’ll face the Yellow Jackets in a Class 3S state semifinal next week.
