Bozeman heads into the Class 1R state semifinal undefeated at 12-0 behind the stellar play of quarterback Peyton Gay, who has thrown for 2,465 yards and 33 touchdowns. Madison County, under second-year head coach Price Harris, are looking to get back to its old ways of competing for state championships and last won it all in 2021 (Class 1A).
