If there was any question about who Chaminade-Madonna might be starting at quarterback in 2024, the answer might’ve arrived Thursday evening.

Katz will enter the 2024 season as one of the state’s top quarterbacks with the kind of statistics he strolls in with and weapons he’ll have around him. In two seasons at True North Classical (2022-2023), Katz has thrown for 6,262 yards and a staggering 74 touchdowns.

The signal caller will have huge shoes to fill with North Carolina State signee Cedrick Bailey graduating. Bailey in 2023 threw for 3,125 yards and 47 touchdowns.

The True North freshman had a stellar 2023 campaign for the Class 1M state semifinalists, completing 188-of-229 passes for 2,973 yards, 38 touchdowns and just one interception.

Chaminade-Madonna is coming off back-to-back state championships in which the Lions featured one of the top offenses not only in Florida, but the entire country.

Katz’s debut looks to certainly be coming in August of 2024, possibly in the Broward County Elite High School Football Showcase, which Chaminade-Madonna has played in the last two years.

The Class of 2027 quarterback already has offers from Appalachian State, Miami (FL) and Ole Miss.
