Graceville (Florida) tabs Richard Koonce as the next head football coach

The Tigers announced the appointment of Koonce on Monday afternoon

Graceville High School's football program has longed for better days ahead.

On Monday afternoon, the football program took a step in what they hope will be the right direction in trying to return to greatness.

The Tigers named Richard Koonce as the team’s new head football coach. Koonce takes over a Graceville program that’s currently on a 19-game losing streak dating back to the 2021 season.

Graceville’s football program is rich in tradition as the Tigers won Class A state championships back in 1988 and 1993.

The Tigers have seen a lot of turnover at the head coaching position, seeing six different head coaches at the helm. Koonce looks to bring some badly needed stability to Graceville in 2024.
