THIS WEEK’S FLORIDA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Editor’s Note: Our Athlete of the Week feature and corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. However, we do not allow votes that are generated by script, macro or other automated means. Athletes that receive votes generated by script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified.

Here are the nominations:

Jase Richardson, Boys Basketball, Columbus: When you play alongside guys like Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sometimes you're not the leading scorer. Richardson, son of former NBA'er Jason Richardson, filled up the stat sheet in a 81-62 win over Long Island Lutheran, scoring 20 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals.

CJ Ingram, Boys Basketball, Hawthorne: Ingram doesn't just play quarterback pretty well, as he can get it done on the hardwood, too. The junior scored a game-high 41 points in a 55-47 win over Chiefland last week.

Ryan Blount, Boys Basketball, Rockledge: Talk about a taste for the theatrics. The senior had a big night, scoring 29 points, including the game-winner at the buzzer, to lead the Raiders past The Master’s Academy 61-59, in the Sun Bash Tournament.

Axel Acevedo, Boys Basketball, McKeel Academy: The 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward had himself a career night in a 53-47 win against Winthrop. Acevedo came down with 14 rebounds to go with his 13 points, notching a double-double.

Nate Boakye, Boys Basketball, Jesuit: On any given night, Boakye can fill up the stat sheet for the Tigers. He did so at the Tiger Palace last week, scoring 21 points, eight rebounds and six steals in a 59-51 district win over Sickles.

Luke Holcomb, Boys Basketball, St. Johns Country Day: Holcomb was able to notch a career-high for points in the Spartans' 81-51 win over West Nassau. The freshman scored 21 points, three rebounds and dished two assists.

Quin‘Darius Rumph, Boys Basketball, Sanford Seminole: Rumph has really started to make a name for himself here lately. The 6-foot-9 senior went off for 30 points, 11 rebounds and added two steals to lead the Seminoles past Lake Mary, 79-60.

Nick Sadler, Boys Basketball, Marco Island Academy: All the way down south in Collier County, Sadler had one of the more efficient games of last week. Sadler made 16-of-20 from the field for 34 points en route to a win over Mason Classical.

Tai Bell, Boys Basketball, Mater Lakes Academy: Bell isn't even a ninth grader yet and he's making an impact on the varsity level. Son of former NBA'er Dia Bell, the eighth grader scored 12 points (3-of-5 from 3-point land), two assists and two steals in a 73-71 win over Bell Creek Academy.

Chris Cornish, Boys Basketball, Charlotte: The senior wing didn't just help in the scoring department, but also on the glass for the Fightin' Tarpons. Cornish scored 18 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in a 56-37 win over Fort Myers.

Harry Gelin, Boys Basketball, South Plantation: Gelin had a remarkably efficient 30-point performance for the Paladins. The guard connected on 12-of-14 shooting from the floor, in South Plantation's 84-61 win against Hialeah Educational Academy.

Summer Snaith, Girls Basketball, Merritt Island Christian: Not many times do you see a smaller private school take down a much larger public school. Snaith came up big and had a double-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and six blocks to lead the Cougars past Rockledge, 67-48 last week.

Ava Graham, Girls Basketball, Keswick Christian: It was another strong outing for Graham in leading the Crusaders to another win. Graham scored a game-high 26 points as Keswick Christian defeated Ormond Beach Calvary Christian Academy 60-20.

Maleeya Brammer, Girls Basketball, Gulf Breeze: In a big district win over Milton, Brammer had herself one of her best games of the season. The power forward/center tallied 22 points and six rebounds.

Paige Atwater, Girls Basketball, Weeki Wachee: The Saint Leo commitment has accomplished so much in her high school basketball career and added another feather under her cap. Atwater surpassed the 1,000-point last week.
