Once was old is new again at Tampa Catholic

Mike Gregory, formerly the offensive coordinator for IMG Academy’s national team, has returned for a second stint as the program’s head coach the school announced on Friday.

Gregory served as the Crusaders head coach from 2013 to 2017, compiling an overall record of 36-21. In 2013, Gregory led Tampa Catholic to the state semifinals. He initially stepped down in the spring of 2015, before deciding to return as the Crusaders’ head coach.

After Tampa Catholic, Gregory was an offensive analyst at Georgia Tech before heading back down to Florida to coach with the Ascenders.

He takes over for Jeris McIntyre, who stepped down as Tampa Catholic’s head coach earlier this month. McIntyre was the head coach of his alma mater for six seasons before stepping away with an overall record of 45-25.
