The Florida High School Softball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Florida Panhandle high school softball player of the week award from February 19-24, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 3rd at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Kennedy Temples, Marianna: The senior pitcher went seven innings, allowed just one hit and fanned 10 batters in a 9-0 win over Holmes County.

Hannah Twitty, Baker: The senior notched a no-hitter in a 18-0 win over Pensacola Booker T. Washington and struck out nine in four innings.

Mykamia Padgett, Pensacola Catholic: The freshman pitcher was impressive in the Crusaders’ 11-0 win over Pine Forest. Padgett went five innings, a no-hitter and 14 strikeouts.

Kayden Riddle, Navarre: The junior pitcher fanned seven batters in four innings, allowing one hit, one run in a 4-3 win over Choctawhatchee.

Aubree Davis, Fort Walton Beach: Davis’ bat was hot in a 12-6 win over Milton, notching three hits and driving in three runs.

Hayley Deegins, Bozeman: The pitcher went the full seven innings, allowed two earned runs and struck out 10 in a 12-2 win over Chipley.

Addison Mallon, North Bay Haven: Just an eighth grader, the pitcher went five innings, allowed just two hits and struck out 10 in a 6-1 win over Port St. Joe.

Shelby McKenzie, Pace: McKenzie’s bat was unstoppable in the Patriots’ 10-4 win over Spanish Fort (Alabama), notching three hits, five runs and hitting a home run.
