Vote: Who is the Tampa Bay Softball Player of the Week (3/18/2024)?

We have 10 candidates for you to choose from

The Florida High School Softball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Tampa Bay high school softball player of the week award from March 11-March 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Miyah Davis, Land O’ Lakes.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Sydney Klein, Academy at the Lakes: The senior pitcher was terrific in the Wildcats’ 6-1 win over Nature Coast, going the full seven innings, striking out 17 batters and only giving up one run.

Bella Busciglio, Tampa Catholic: The junior had a big night at the plate in a 16-9 win over Wesley Chapel Cypress Creek, driving in five runs on three hits, including two triples.

Reagan Beagle, Wiregrass Ranch: Beagle added another stellar performance under her belt in a 15-0 shutout win over Gulf, pitching four innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight.

Nevaeh Fitzpatrick, Hudson: The freshman hurler led the Cobras to a 18-0 win over Anclote, pitching three perfect innings, no hits, no walks and struck out seven batters.

Ava Braswell, Hernando: Braswell showed why she’s one of the top pitchers around, going the distance and striking out 17 in a 4-0 win over Central.

Audrey Midyett, Mitchell: The freshman pitcher had a strong outing in the Mustangs’ 10-0 win over Gulf, going six innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven.

Violet Flynn, Crystal River: The sensational sophomore kept Weeki Wachee in check in a 13-0 victory, pitching five innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11.

Rachel Rivera, Springstead: The sophomore catcher made the difference in a 7-5 win over rival Nature Coast, notching three hits and scoring twice.

Juliana Martin, Wesley Chapel: In a 14-4 victory over Zephryhills, Martin’s bat was needed as she went 3-for-4, with three runs driven in.
