THREE TO SEE

Colby Botten, wide receiver

If passing game continues to purr, this all-league second-teamer could catch 90 passes

Gale Kamp, offensive lineman

Only returning all-leaguer (Kingco Crest second team) on the line reliable at left tackle

Clay Millen, quarterback

Both Millen boys have big frames/arms, but this one more deliberate in decision-making

OUTLOOK

Cale Millen had a fantastic run as the team’s three-year starting quarterback (8,288 yards, 104 TDs), capped by garnering 4A all-state honors -- and early enrollment at Oregon.

So do the Wildcats take a step back? Not with Millen 2.0.

After waiting two years behind his older brother, Clay Millen gets his turn to run the show. He led the freshman and junior varsity teams to undefeated marks -- and has only lost one organized football game since his days in youth leagues.

Kinnune is quick to praise the younger Millen’s pocket poise and passing accuracy, and does not expect the offense to miss a beat in 2019.

And he has a bona fide elite receiving option in Botten, who will move inside and outside, and even take handoffs in the backfield. Mount Si needs him to stay healthy because he is such a key contributor in all three phases.

Mount Si might take more early losses this season, but all this group of juniors has done, led by Millen, is win championships. They don’t plan on that stopping now.
