KELSO — The Kelso Hilanders (5-1) hosted the Hockinson Hawks (5-1) in a nonleague area showdown between two teams with recent success.

The Hawks are defending 2A state champions, while Kelso has finished runner up in the 3A Greater St. Helens League the past several seasons.
