Austin Mack, a four-star quarterback from Folsom, California, announced on Twitter Tuesday evening that he is reclassifying to the class of 2023 and will be enrolling at Washington this fall.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Mack committed to the Huskies on Feb. 1. He is rated the nation’s No. 53 overall junior and No. 7 quarterback by 247Sports. Mack’s finalists were California, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford and Washington.

Earlier this month, Folsom head coach Paul Doherty told SBLive that Mack is a good all-around football player

“He understands the situation, he understands the game, the down, the distance. He understands offense, he understands what we’re trying to do, how we’re trying to do it, when we’re trying to do it — it’s decision making, timing, accuracy, being able to run an offense.”

Mack threw for 3,498 yards and 40 touchdowns with five interceptions as a junior. He will be joining a quarterback room that lacks depth behind Heisman Trophy contender Michael Penix Jr. and fifth-year junior Dylan Morris.
