THREE TO SEE
Cole Fay, running back
Strong and elusive, he has rushed for 1,000 yards in past two seasons
Abel Ingle, offensive lineman
Given Pirates’ lack of depth, he is the guy they can least afford to lose
Braden Thomas. quarterback
Passed and rushed for 1,000 yards in first season running the show
OUTLOOK
Make no mistake, the best team in 2B last season -- talented and experienced Adna -- never made it to the Tacoma Dome after being upset by Napavine in the state semifinals.
So after losing 16 starters to graduation, what is next for the Pirates? Likely a slight step back.
That doesn’t mean Adna cannot keep up with the other contenders.
After switching from running back last season, Thomas will enter his second year as the starting quarterback. He is the biggest game-changer in the league -- in all three phases. And Fay will get the biggest workload of his career as a third-year starter.
