THREE TO SEE
Andrew Nath, offensive and defensive line
Got good minutes as a sophomore -- should be a big part of a young line.
Jordan Sims, running back
Also got some good minutes as a sophomore -- dangerous in the passing game out of the backfield.
Noah Thompson, offensive and defensive lineman
Big kid with the ability to bully his way through fronts on D and fend off the blitz on O.
OUTLOOK
Tony Umuyam returns to Mountlake Terrace for his 12th overall season as head coach for the Hawks. He's the only coach to ever take the team to the state playoffs.
Umuyam loses over a third of his team to graduation this season, and a lot of those guys were two-way starters in 2018. Among those departures are five all-league selections, but most important to note is the varsity experience the 2019 team lacks.
The Hawks were able to tie for first place in the NWC Lake Division last year, a feat which will be difficult to repeat given the overhaul on both sides of the ball.
