Initially came in as an offensive tackle, but soft hands took over

Chase Wittmers, running back

As physical an open-space blocker as Filkins has had in program

OUTLOOK

When you think of program success over the past decade and a half, Peninsula has been as consistent as anybody, reaching the playoffs in 13 of the past 14 seasons, with six state quarterfinal showings in the past seven years.

The next step? Challenging for a 3A title game appearance.

Even though the Seahawks are the favorites to repeat in the 3A SSC, it will be a bit of an early transition with an entirely new starting offensive backfield.

Bice backed up New Hampshire-bound Burke Griffin, and even replaced him after an injury in the 3A quarterfinal game against O'Dea, leading the team to a touchdown. Coaches rave about his arm strength and understanding of the offense.

And Wittmers, who is finally healthy after a nagging shoulder injury as a junior, will be deployed all over the field at fullback, teaming up with Skladany to replace Braeden Potter's production.
