The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association voted Monday unanimously to approve three outdoor sites in the Greater Tacoma area — Tacoma’s Mount Tahoma Stadium (5,000-plus capacity), Puyallup’s Sparks Stadium (4,500) and Lakewood’s Harry E Lang Stadium (4,000) — to host the state football championships on Dec. 7.

Here's everything you need to know about Mount Tahoma Stadium:

Location: Tacoma (4634 South 74th Street).

Opened: 2004.

Biggest event hosted: Star Track, the WIAA state track and field championships (Class 4A-2A).

Capacity: 5,000.

Amenities: Ample on-site parking west of the facility; two ticket gates and entry points, both on the west side of the stadium; two permanent concession areas under home grandstands (with option to have mobile concessions on east end); restroom areas under both covered grandstands; spacious walking areas around the stadium.

Recent upgrades: Replay video scoreboard debuted in 2011. A new synthetic-grass field surface was installed in 2016.

Gridiron Classic game schedule: Class 1B game at noon; Class 4A game at 4 p.m.
