Look: Tyshon Patty wins MVP as East beats West in underclassman all-star game

All-star games often escalate into high-scoring affairs, but that didn't happen Tuesday night at Buford High School.

The East-West Underclassmen All-Star Baseball Game evolved into a multiple-pitchers duel, and one of those pitchers delivered the big hit in a 3-2 East win.

Mountain View junior Tyshon Patty rapped a two-out RBI single to break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth.

It was Patty's second RBI of the night, and he also pitched two innings.

The game saw 15 pitchers combine for 17 strikeouts in the annual matchup pitting the East (Gwinnett, Barrow, Forsyth, Hall and Walton counties) against the West (Cherokee, Cobb and Fulton counties).

Harrison's Jason Walk singled, stole a base and scored and made a spectacular diving catch in center field for West.
