Walter Matthews, 4-star rated tight end, commits to USC over Florida and South Carolina

Hiram (Georgia) four-star tight end Walter Matthews made his commitment on Wednesday morning to the Trojans

HIRAM, GEORGIA- One of the best tight ends in the Peach State decided early Wednesday morning on where he will playing football on the next level. 

Hiram (Georgia) junior tight end Walter Matthews announced via Twitter that he is committing to the Trojans. The right end is a 4-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and South Carolina.

The 6-foot-7, 245-pound tight end was a force for the Hornets last season and doubles up his talents on the basketball floor. Matthews in 2022 hauled in 20 passes for 425 yards and eight touchdowns. 

Matthews also held offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
