HOSCHTON, GA – Mill Creek routed Peachtree Ridge, 59-20, Friday night in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs, giving them their 20th consecutive win in the process dating back to last season.

Senior running back Cam Robinson scored a pair of touchdowns in the win, and in the process, became the Hawks’ All-Time leading rusher with more than 3,400 yards.

The win sets up a matchup with Camden in the Class 7A quarterfinals next Friday night at home.

Buford 28, Norcross 25

Buford was given a scare in its second-round matchup on the road at Norcross, who saw their big third-quarter lead disappear down the stretch.

The Blue Devils ripped off 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to trim the Wolves lead to three, but a failed onside kick attempt and a subsequent third-down conversion by UGA commit Dylan Raiola and the Wolves iced a 28-25 victory in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs.

Raiola tossed four touchdowns, three to KJ Bolden, in the win.

They will now travel to face Grayson in the quarterfinals next Friday night.

Grayson 42, North Paulding 18

The Rams won their sixth straight game Friday night, defeating North Paulding 42-18 in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs.

With the win, the Rams advance into the Class 7A quarterfinals for the sixth straight year.

The Rams held a slim 13-8 lead early in the second quarter, but they quickly pulled away form there. A 28-yard touchdown pass from JD Davis to Alex Sanchez extended their lead to 21-8 after a 2-point conversion, and they never looked back.

With the win, the Rams will play host to Buford next Friday night with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

Walton 48, North Gwinnett 19

The Bulldogs kept things close for a while, but in the end, it was host Walton rumbling its way to a 48-19 win in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs Friday night.

The Raiders did most of their damage on the ground, rushing for 287 yards. Austin Williams rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown while Makari Bodiford rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Leading 21-13 at the half, the Raiders out-scored the Bulldogs 27-6 in the second half.

With the win, the Raiders will play Carrollton in the quarterfinals next Friday night, a rematch of last year’s quarterfinals that was won by the Trojans 52-27.

Milton 42, Collins Hill 21

In a much-anticipated rematch from earlier in the season, Milton took down Collins Hill for a second time 42-21 in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs Friday night.

Collins Hill led Milton 14-13 early in the third quarter after a short touchdown run, but it was all Milton from there.

The hosts ripped off 29 unanswered points and leading the charge was Miami commit Luke Nickel, who threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Wide receiver CJ Wiley caught three of Nickel’s four TDs and racked up 174 yards.

With the win, the Eagles will face Colquitt County in the Class 7A quarterfinals next Friday night.

Carrollton 45, Valdosta 28

Carrollton found itself in a close battle with Valdosta, but was eventually able to pull way late in the third quarter and secure a 45-28 win in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs Friday night.

Star sophomore quarterback JuJu Lewis tossed four touchdown passes and running back Kimauri Farmer rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

With the win, the Trojans will play host to Walton in a rematch of last year’s quarterfinals, a game won by the Trojans 52-27.

Colquitt County 38, Westlake 19

Westlake made things interesting after cutting Colquitt County’s lead down to just five points in the second half, but the Packers would eventually find a groove and pull away to a 38-19 win in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs Friday night.

Packers quarterback Neko Fann tossed a pair of touchdowns in the win with Zay Williams on the receiving end twice. Ramsey Dennis also found the end zone for the Packers in the win.

The Packers scored 14 unanswered points after the Lions were able to trim their lead to 24-19.

With the win the Packers will travel to face Milton in the Class 7A quarterfinals.

Camden County 26, McEachern 0

The Wildcats blanked McEachern 26-0 Friday night in the second round of the Class 7A state playoffs.

It’s their first second-round playoff win since 2012, the last season they were coached by Jeff Herron before he returned to the program in 2021.

They will travel to play Mill Creek in the quarterfinals next Friday night.
