Best of luck to everyone in the state playoffs!

GEORGIA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL POWER 25

1. GRAYSON (27-0)

The regular season is in the books and the Rams remain on top after completing a perfect regular season with a Region 4-7A championship. They will now enter the Class 7A state playoffs as the heavy favorites to win it all.

2. HEBRON CHRISTIAN (25-2)

The Lions closed out their regular season with another Region 8-3A championship and will now gear up for another run at a state title. It would be the Lions’ second title in a row after dominating their way through Class 3A last season.

3. MOUNT PARAN CHRISTIAN (24-3)

The Eagles are set to enter the Class 2A state playoffs riding a 10-game winning streak that included winning the 6-2A title. They’ll enter the playoffs as the heavy favorites to win it all.

4. RIVER RIDGE (23-4)

The Knights are peaking at the right time having won 15 games in a row that ended with winning the Region 6-6A title. At 23-4 on the season, the Knights will enter the Class 6A state playoffs as the favorites to repeat as champions.

5. WESLEYAN (22-3)

The Wolves ended their regular season the best they could by winning the Region 7-3A title over a good Pickens squad, and they’ll now gear up for the Class 3A state playoffs where they find themselves on the opposite side of the bracket to that of No. 2 Hebron Christian, which very well could be your state title game.

6. ST. FRANCIS (19-7)

The Knights won another Region 6-D1 title to end their regular season on a high note, and they’ll now enter the Class A D1 state playoffs as the favorites to win it all.

7. BUFORD (24-3)

The Wolves haven’t been playing their best basketball as of late, but it still ended with them winning the Region 8-7A title. They’ll enter the Class 7A state playoffs with a No. 1 seed, and find themselves on the opposite side of the bracket of No. 1 Grayson, which is great news for them.

8. UNION GROVE (26-1)

It was a nail-biter, but the Wolverines held off Jones County to win the Region 2-5A title. Having won 15 games in a row to end the regular season, they will now enter the Class 5A state playoffs as the favorites to win it all.

9. BALDWIN (24-2)

It was a nail-biter, but the Wolverines held off Jones County to win the Region 2-5A title. Having won 15 games in a row to end the regular season, they will now enter the Class 5A state playoffs as the favorites to win it all.

10. MARIST (25-1)

The War Eagles ended their regular season with just one loss, and they capped it by winning the Region 4-6A crown. They find themselves on the same side of the bracket as No. 4 River Ridge, which could set up an epic battle in the Final 4 in early March.

11. NORCROSS (22-5)

A team flying under the radar a bit heading into the playoffs is Norcross, who ended their regular season by winning another Region 7-7A title. And while it will take a massive upset to knock off Grayson, the Blue Devils might get a crack at them in the quarterfinals.

12. HARDAWAY (23-4)

The Hawks completed their regular season on a high note, winning the Region 1-4A title, and they will now enter the Class 4A state playoffs as one of the favorites. They’re on the opposite side of the bracket of No. 9 Baldwin, but are in the same quadrant as Holy Innocents, which might determine which one of those two teams heads to the state championship game.

13. CAMPBELL (20-7)

When it comes to teams in Class 7A, outside of Grayson you will be hard pressed to find a team playing better basketball right now than Campbell. They beat Carrollton to win the Region 2-7A title, and they find themselves on the opposite side of the bracket to that of Grayson for the state playoffs.

14. HOLY INNOCENTS (22-6)

The Golden Bears are red hot heading into the Class 4A state playoffs having won 16 games in a row. Their most recent win came in the Region 6-4A championship, a game they dominated to win. They’re one of three big favorites to win it all alongside No. 9 Baldwin and No. 12 Hardaway.

15. NORTH FORSYTH (27-0)

Give North Forsyth a ton of credit. They didn’t play a tough schedule whatsoever during the regular season, but they won all 27 of their games and won the Region 8-6A title as a result. The road in the Class 6A state playoffs won't be easy, but they likely have at least one or two wins in them.

16. CARROLLTON (23-4)

The first team in the final rankings of the regular season not to win a region championship is Carrollton, who lost to No. 13 Campbell in the Region 2-7A finals. Not winning the title puts them on the same side of the bracket as Grayson, which will end their season either in the Final 4 against the Rams, or earlier if they run into a buzzsaw.

17. GALLOWAY (15-10)

The Scots are another team that failed to win their region after losing to No. 6 St Francis in the Region 6-D1 title game. They’re going to make a deep run regardless of not getting a No. 1 seed of the Class A-D1 playoffs, and could see St. Francis in the state finals.

18. LANGSTON HUGHES (21-6)

The Panthers entered the Region 5-6A tournament as slight underdogs against New Manchester, who had just beaten them to close out the regular season. But in the region finals, the Panthers dominated and won the game to lock up a No. 1 seed for the Class 6A state playoffs.

19. PICKENS (24-4)

The Dragons come in at No. 19 after they closed out their regular season with a loss to No. 5 Wesleyan in the Region 7-3A finals. Unfortunately for the Dragons, they will have a date with No. 2 Hebron Christian in the second round, which will in all likelihood end their season.

20. JACKSON (24-1)

The Jaguars closed out their regular season on an impressive 17-game winning streak, and it ended with a Region 5-5A title. Unfortunately, they find themselves in the same quadrant as Union Grove, which will likely set up a way-to-early meeting in the quarterfinals.

21. CARVER-COLUMBUSH (20-6)

The Tigers ended their regular season winning the Region 1-3A title, and they’re in a great spot within the Class 3A bracket. They’re the best team in their quadrant, and could see Wesleyan in a Final 4 showdown.

22. NORTH PAULDING (21-6)

The Wolfpack battled through some ups and downs during the regular season, but ended it on a high note dismantling McEachern in the Region 3-7A title game. They have earned one of eight No. 1 seeds in the process, and could see Buford in the quarterfinals.

23. MILTON (24-2)

The Eagles ended their regular season strong, winning their last 12 including the Region 6-7A championship game. They could see No. 16 Carrollton in the quarterfinals, or Grayson in the Final 4.

24. NEW MANCHESTER (21-5)

The Jaguars had a disappointing end to their regular season after losing to Langston Hughes in the Region 5-6A finals. The loss will likely set up a second-round matchup against the Class 6A favorites, No. 4 River Ridge.

25. WOODWARD ACADEMY (22-5)

The War Eagles ended their regular season strong, winning their last 12 including the Region 3-6A title. They’ve earned one of eight No. 1 seeds for the upcoming Class 6A state playoffs and are in a very favorable quadrant.
