Final Top 25 Georgia high school girls basketball rankings for 2023-24 season

Grayson completes a perfect season (32-0) at No. 1; Hebron Christian, Mount Paran Christian, Marist and Wesleyan all finish in the Top 5

The 2023-24 season has come to a close after last week’s state championships that were held inside the Macon Centreplex. With eight teams crowned state champions, it is now time to announce our final 2023-24 Georgia Girls Basketball Power 25 of the season.

A big congrats to all eight state champions!

GEORGIA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL POWER 25

1. GRAYSON (32-0)

Georgia's most dominant team ended the season on top, winning the Class 7A state championship with a 21-point win over North Paulding. They completed a perfect 32-0 season in the process.

2. HEBRON CHRISTIAN (30-2)

The Lions won their second straight Class 3A state title last weekend after holding off No. 5 Wesleyan, who made a late charge. They finish the season ranked No. 2 in the state with an impressive 30-2 record. 

3. MOUNT PARAN CHRISTIAN (29-3)

The Eagles started the playoffs ranked No. 3 in the state and will finish the season ranked No. 3 in the state after winning the Class 2A state title over Josey.

4. MARIST (30-1)

The Eagles lost just one game this season, a 7-point loss to No. 3 Mount Paran, and won the Class 6A state championship in dominating fashion last weekend. They took down defending state champs River Ridge in the semifinals to pull it off.

5. WESLEYAN (27-4)

The Wolves very nearly completed a fourth-quarter comeback against No. 2 Hebron Christian in the Class 3A state championship game, but ultimately fell short. They finish the season ranked No. 5 in the state.

6. SAINT FRANCIS (24-7)

It took overtime, but the Knights took down rival Galloway in the Class A D-1 state championship in overtime last weekend. They finish the season ranked No. 6 in the state.

7. BALDWIN (29-2)

Entering the Class 4A playoffs as one of the favorites to win it all, the Braves did just that after storming back to beat Hardaway in the finals last weekend.

8. GALLOWAY (19-11)

The Scots very nearly beat their rival Saint Francis in the Class A D-1 state championship game, but fell just short in overtime. They finish the season ranked No. 8 after entering the playoffs ranked No. 17.

9. RIVER RIDGE (26-5)

The Knights goal of repeating as Class 6A state champs ended in the state semifinals after losing to No. 4 Marist in overtime. They finish the season ranked No. 9 in the state. 

10. JACKSON (29-1)

The Jaguars ended what was a magical season with a Class 5A state championship win over Midtown last week. They finish the season with only one loss and round out the Top 10 in the final Power 25 rankings of the season.

11. HARDAWAY (27-5)

The Hawks suffered a heart-breaking loss in the Class 4A state title game to Baldwin after having a lead in the second half. They finish the season ranked No. 11 in the state. 

12. NORTH FORSYTH (31-1)

The Raiders lost just one game this season, but it came in the Class 6A state title game to No. 4 Marist, who beat them by double-digits. After winning their first 31 games to start the season, they come in at No. 12 in the rankings.

13. NORTH PAULDING (27-7)

With No. 1 Grayson virtually unbeatable this season, everyone was playing for second place in Class 7A. After a great run through the playoffs, the Wolfpack was rewarded with that second-place finish.

14. HOLY INNOCENTS (24-7)

The Golden Bears had their state championship hopes upended by No. 11 Hardaway in the Class 4A state quarterfinals. They finish the season ranked No. 14 in the state.

15. UNION GROVE (28-2)

The Wolverines saw their season come to an end in the Class 5A state quarterfinals against No. 10 Jackson, which was only their second loss of the season. They finish ranked No. 15 in the state.

16. NORCORSS (24-6)

The Blue Devils had a solid season, reaching the Class 7A state quarterfinals before having their season ended by No. 1 Grayson. They finish ranked No. 16 in the state.

17. BUFORD (26-4)

The Wolves weren’t playing their best basketball at the end of the season, and that ultimately cost them in the third round against No. 13 North Paulding, who ended their season. They finish ranked No. 17 in the state.

18. CARVER-COLUMBUS (23-7)

The Tigers made a good run in the Class 3A state playoffs, reaching the semifinals before losing to No. 5 Wesleyan. They finish ranked No. 18 in the state.

19. GREENFOREST (27-5)

The Eagles very quietly put together a terrific season, and it ended with them hoisting the Class A D-2 state championship trophy. After posting a 27-5 record, they finish ranked No. 19 in the state. 

20. JOSEY (28-4)

The Eagles had a chance to beat No. 3 Mount Paran in the Class 2A state title game, but fell just short. They come in at No. 20 in the rankings to end the year.

21. WOODWARD ACADEMY (24-6)

The War Eagles played some of their best basketball towards the end of the season, but they ultimately lost to No. 12 North Forsyth in the Class 6A state quarterfinals.

22. PICKENS (25-5)

Outside of No. 5 Wesleyan, the Dragons played No. 2 Hebron Christian the toughest in the Class 3A state playoffs. It was a tough draw for the Dragons, who lost in the second round to the Lions. They come in ranked No. 22 to end the year.

23. CHEROKEE (24-8)

The Warriors caught fire heading into the Class 7A state playoffs and won three games before losing to No. 13 North Paulding in the semifinals. They come in ranked No. 23 in the state after being unranked all season.

24. VETERANS (24-7)

The Warhawks made a terrific run in the Class 6A state playoffs, reaching the semifinals before losing to No. 12 North Forsyth. They finish the season ranked No. 24 after previously being unranked.

25. MIDTOWN (27-6)

The Knights reached the Class 5A state championship before losing to No. 10 Jackson by 14 points. After being unranked all season, the Knights finish the season ranked No. 25 in the state.
