Congratulations to Murtaugh's Soyer Young for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Oct. 23-Oct. 28!

This one felt sweet for Young and Red Devils, who avenged last year's playoff loss by rolling up 478 yards of offense. The junior dual-threat quarterback was right in the middle of it, rushing for 221 yards and five touchdowns, passing for another score to Sway Stanger and picking off a pass on defense in a 64-26 first-round victory. Lighthouse Christian ended their season in 2022.

Young collected 69.9% of the overall vote, well ahead of runner-up Annelie Wilson (28.4%), of Horeshoe Bend volleyball
