Coeur d'Alene distance runner Max Cervi-Skinner voted WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Coeur d'Alene's Max Cervi-Skinner for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Nov. 6-Nov. 11!
After placing sixth at the Class 5A championships in October, the junior finished 10th overall to lead his North Idaho XC team to a title at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships at Eagle Island in Boise, becoming the first Idaho boys program to move on to the Nike Cross Country Nationals. His 5-kilometer time was 15:25.3, just ahead of teammate Jacob King (15:26.9).
Cervi-Skinner collected 90.6% of the overall vote, well ahead of runner-up Jack Nelson, of Teton football.

IDAHO NOMINEES
Avery Howell, Boise girls basketball: Tallied 19 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists in a 53-24 rout of last year’s Class 5A runner up Rocky Mountain.
Ty Koepp, Kendrick football: Went 11-of-16 for 398 yards and seven touchdowns in a 88-20 Class 1A (D2) semifinal win over Hagerman.
Jack Nelson, Teton football: Completed 15-of-21 passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns, while adding another 83 and two scores on the ground, including a 25-yard run with 12 seconds remaining to give the Timberwolves a 49-42 Class 3A state semifinal win over Homedale.
Markus Powers, Bishop Kelly football: Linebacker was responsible for two of the five turnovers with a pair of interceptions, including the final one to seal a 28-18 Class 4A semifinal win over Pocatello.
Nelah Roberts, Skyline girls cross country: Crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 19.3 seconds for a fourth-place finish at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships to qualify for the Nike Cross Country Nationals for the second consecutive year.
Bry Severe, Oakley football: Piled up 237 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 26 carries in a 50-20 Class 1A (D1) semifinal win over Grace.
Troy Smith, Camas County football: Racked up 341 yards of total offense, four touchdowns, 11 tackles and a sack during a 67-18 rout of Rockland in a Class 1A (D2) semifinal game.
Mattie Thacker, Grangeville girls basketball: Recorded a double-double of 12 points and 13 blocks to go with four steals in a 65-56 win over reigning Class 2A champion Melba.
Brody Westergard, Butte County football: Wide receiver ran, caught and threw a touchdown for a combined seven scores in a 60-26 Class 1A (D1) semifinal win over Logos.
