Grangeville girls basketball player Caryss Barger voted WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Grangeville guard Caryss Barger for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Jan. 8-Jan. 13!
There are a few reasons why Grangeville sits atop the 2A Central Idaho - and this emerging sophomore is one of them. Barger scored a career-high 28 points, including five 3-pointers, to go along with five assists and four steals in a win over Kellogg. Also had 23 points, eight rebounds and seven steals in a win over St. Marie's.
Barger collected 52.7% of the overall vote.

Zoey Blackwell, Middleton girls basketball: Logged 20 points, eight steals, five rebounds and four assists to help the Vikings erase a 14-point deficit in a 51-50 win over Borah.
Jake Curtis, Mountain View boys basketball: Chalked up a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-58 win over rival Rocky Mountain.
Jacob Heyne, Timberline boys basketball: Tallied 21 points and six rebounds in a 60-43 win over Middleton.
Avery Howell, Boise girls basketball: Piled up 25 points, 17 rebounds and six steals as the Brave picked up their 14th consecutive win with a 55-36 victory over reigning state runner-up Rocky Mountain.
Reggie Larsen, Preston boys basketball: Had 16 of his 19 points in the second half, including eight in the final six minutes to lead the Indians in knocking off top-ranked Pocatello in a 52-51 win.
Ryan Udy, Raft River girls basketball: Scored 23 points to help snap the nine-game winning streak of third-ranked Murtaugh, 49-46.
Avery Waddington, Lake City girls basketball: Netted 23 points on 11-of-15 shooting, six assists and five rebounds to lead the Timberwolves to their 11th consecutive win in a 54-45 victory over reigning state champion Coeur d’Alene.
Kase Wynott, Lapwai boys basketball: Set a new career high with 57 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 11 assists for a triple-double in a 100-74 win over Logos.
