Top standouts, best performances in Week 8 of the Illinois high school football season

Listed below are some of the top standouts and performers from Week 8 high school football games throughout the Lincoln State:
Nicholas Deloach Jr., WR-DB, Cahokia
A University of Missouri commit, Deloach did a little bit of everything in the Comanches’ 56-6 win at Althoff. His four-touchdown day included two touchdown receptions, a 90-yard interception return for a score and a 65-yard punt return TD. He racked up nine tackles and two interceptions.
Darion Dupree, RB, Mount Carmel
The running back had four touchdowns in the 70-0 blowout win, setting up a date with Loyola next week.
Mako Grant, RB, Kenwood
A junior, Grant rushed nine times for 167 yards and three touchdowns in the Broncos’ 44-0 win over Curie on Thursday.
Tre Jones, QB, Oswego East
A Navy commit, Jones ran for 262 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-21 come-from-behind victory against rival Oswego.
Brett Kersemeier, RB, Hersey
The senior rushed for a career-high 178 yards and a touchdown in Hersey’s 42-0 win over Elk Grove.
Matt Kuczaj, WR-DB, Wheaton North
The junior of the Falcons made two key plays again in the 20-13 win. He caught a 64-yard TD pass with 5:06 to go ahead by a touchdown. Later in the game, he had a pass breakup in the end zone to secure the win.
James Kwiecinski, RB, Lincoln-Way East
Running back James Kwiecinski ran for 287 yards and 4 TDs as Lincoln-Way East cruised past Lockport 37-10.
Keshawn Lewis-Hunt, RB, Bremen
A junior, Lewis-Hunt carried 28 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns as the Braves defeated Oak Forest 29-7.
Max Lynch, QB, Pana
Lynch accounted for 455 total yards and five touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a 42-21 win over visiting Virden North Mac. He passed for 250 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 205 yards and three scores.
TaRyan Martin, RB, East St. Louis
Martin had three touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards as the Flyers defeated Southwestern Conference rival Edwardsville 26-7.
Marquise Palmer, LB, East St. Louis
Palmer recorded 10 tackles and three sacks as the stingy Flyers’ defense allowed just one touchdown to Edwardsville.
Tyler Vasey, QB, Prairie Ridge
Vassey threw for 301 yards and five touchdowns in the second half as Prairie Ridge escaped past Crystal Lake South 48-41.
Brad Vierneisel, QB, Prospect
The Knights’ senior quarterback only played one half on Friday but completed 13 of 14 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns as Prospect rolled to a 44-12 win at Wheeling.
Dominic Voegele, QB-DB, Columbia
Voegele rushed 23 times for 385 yards and four touchdowns in the Eagles’ 28-27 win at Breese Central. He ripped off TD runs of 60, 82, 63 and 88 yards. He also added 11 tackles.
Brent Wuebbels, QB, Highland
Wuebbels completed 16 of 21 passes for 182 yards and four touchdowns as the Bulldogs ran away with a 56-0 win over visiting Mascoutah.
