Breese Mater Dei's Markus Kehrer voted SBLive’s Illinois High School Athlete of the Week (10/23/2023)

Kehrer received more than 52 percent of the total votes cast

Congratulations to Breese Mater Dei football player Markus Kehrer, who was voted SBLive's Illinois High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 9-15.

He received 9,035 votes, which were more than 52 percent of the total votes.

Kehrer, a senior, scored a career-high three touchdowns – two receiving, one rushing – in a 55-7 win over Decatur St. Teresa. He also added nine tackles on defense.

Breese Central football player Kaden Rakers finished second in the voting after receiving more than 25 percent of the votes.
